Food and water is the source of fuel for all of humanity. But what do you do when there isn’t enough money to stock the shelves of your pantry? Sadly, many Americans in our own communities are unable to provide enough food for themselves or their families. A USA Today article from 2014 claims that one in seven Americans – 46 million people – rely on food pantries and meal service programs to feed themselves and their families. Imagine the difference it makes in someone’s life when they do not have to miss a meal just because they cannot afford it.

Pick up some non perishables to donate to your local food bank. Set up a time weekly or monthly that you’re committed to dropping off some necessities for the patrons of your local food bank. When you drop them off, ask about volunteer opportunities to help stock their shelves.
