Engage Pre-K - 4th grade students in an OPS elementary school twice a month. Volunteers will read and facilitate an activity with an entire classroom of students, or in small groups. The dates, books and activities are planned and prepared by our P4K staff, so all you need to do is show up!
Book Buddies serve for one hour; exact time of day varies based on school assignment. Book Buddies read to students in the following elementary schools: Belle Ryan, Fontenelle, Franklin, Gifford Park, and Sherman.
Need to know
The P4K Recruitment Team will follow up with an email containing background check information that will need to be completed before being officially accepted to volunteer. Recruitment will also confirm times and dates of your availability and discuss preferences before receiving your school assignment.
